Begin by talking to God and asking for his presence as you read and meditate.

Take a chapter from the Bible and meditate on it. This can be accomplished by reading it three or four times, or listing the things it says about yourself, guidelines to follow or promises to claim.

Structure your prayer by praying for adoration, confession, petition, and thanksgiving. Pray for your urgent needs and concerns as well as taking time to sit in the presence of God.
