But with a little bit of planning and effort it is possible to create an effective prayer schedule that works for you and your time. And the greatest part is that you are able to modify it to match your own personality and religious tradition.

That’s where developing the habit of praying comes into. It gives an order and accountability to make sure we are connected to God on a regularly.
How do you start? The first step is to decide the time of day that is most conducive to you to pray. Some prefer to begin their day by praying, while others prefer to pray at night before bed. Test and see what works for you.
Once you’ve determined the best time for prayer then you can begin to establish a routine. Here’s an example of a pattern that you can follow daily for morning prayers:
Begin by approaching God to ask for his help as you read and pray.
Take a chapter from the Bible and reflect on it. It can be done by reading the passage three to four times or by listing the things it says about yourself, the examples you can follow, instructions to obey , or promises to claim.
Make your prayer a ritual by praying for adoration, confession, petition, and thanksgiving. Prayerfully address your immediate needs and worries as well as taking time to enjoy God’s presence.
The great thing about a prayer routine is that it can be adapted to meet your requirements. For some, you may have only some minutes and others could be able to devote a whole time or even more. The key is making it a consistent part of your daily routine. And if you miss one or two days, don’t sweat it! Just get back on track for the next day.
An everyday prayer practice is a wonderful way to start the new year with a new feeling of purpose and connection with the divine. It’s a powerful method to start your day, keeping your eyes upon the Lord and making sure that your actions and thoughts are aligned in accordance with His plan.
Another way to increase your prayer routine is to enhance it by making it more engaging. Instead of reciting the phrases, try engaging with God at a deeper level. Make use of your imagination and try to imagine the scenes that are described within the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters, and put yourself in their position. This will make your prayer time more personal and meaningful.
It is also possible to incorporate different types prayers into your daily routine. For example, try a silent prayer, contemplative prayer or even writing down your prayers. This can keep your prayer routine from becoming repetitive and provide variety to your spiritual routine.
One of the best ways to stay motivated and on track with your prayer practice is by sharing your practice with others. Find an accountability partner, a friend or family member who will be checking on you regularly and help you to keep to your daily routine. They could even be a part of your prayers and share their own experiences.
The goal of a daily prayer practice is to increase your connection with God and align your thoughts and actions with His will. It’s not about perfectionism or adhering to an unwritten set of rules, it’s about being intentional and consistent in your life of faith. So, take the time to discover a prayer practice that you enjoy and incorporate it in your day-to-day life.
