Begin by approaching God, ask for his help while you read and pray.
Go through a section of the Bible and meditate on it. This can be accomplished by reading it three to four times, or writing down everything it reveals about yourself, or guidelines to obey , or promises to claim.
Your prayer should be structured by praying for adoration, confession prayer, thanksgiving, and petition. Prayerfully address your urgent needs and concerns as well as taking time to enjoy God’s presence.
The best thing about praying is that it’s customizable to fit your needs. Many people might only have some minutes while others might have an hour or more. It’s important that you make this a regular element of your day-to-day routine. And if you miss a day or two, don’t sweat it! Just get back on track for the next day.

Another method to improve your prayer practice is to make it more engaging. Instead of reciting the phrases, try engaging with God in a deeper way. Try using your imagination to visualize the scenes in the Bible. Make an effort to experience the emotion of each character and place yourself in their position. This can make your time in prayer more meaningful and personal.
You can also try incorporating different types in your prayer day-to-day routine. For example, try silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even writing down your prayers. This will prevent your prayer practice from becoming monotonous and add the variety you need to your spiritual practice.
One of the best methods to keep yourself focused and in line with your daily prayer routine is sharing it with other people. Find a partner in accountability either a close friend or family member who will be checking on you regularly and help you to adhere to your daily routine. They can even be a part of your prayer and share their own experiences.
The goal of a daily prayer practice is to strengthen your relationship with God and ensure that your actions and thoughts are in line to His plan. It’s not about perfectionism or adhering to an unwritten set of guidelines, but rather being consistent and deliberate in your daily spiritual practice.
