This is where the creation of a prayer routine comes in. It helps us establish a structure and accountability to ensure that we’re connecting with the divine on regularly.

So, how do you get started? It’s the first thing to do is decide which time of the day is the most suitable time to pray. Some people prefer to start their day by praying, and others prefer to pray in the evening before going to getting to bed. Experiment and see what works best for you.

After you’ve decided on the most appropriate time for prayer then you can begin building your daily routine. Here’s an example of a daily pattern for morning prayers:

Begin by addressing God to ask for his help as you read and meditate.

Go through a section of the Bible and reflect on it for a while. It can be done by reading it three to four times or by listing the things it says about yourself or the examples you can follow, instructions to obey or promises to keep.

Structure your prayer by making confession, adoration, petition, and thanksgiving. Pray for your needs and pressing concerns, and take time to sit in the presence of God.

The beauty of a prayer routine is that it is customizable to suit your needs. For some, you may have only a few minutes to spare while others might have an hours or longer. It’s important that you make this a constant part of your daily routine. And if you miss a day or two, don’t sweat it! Just get back on track the next day.

A daily prayer practice is a great method to begin this new year feeling a fresh belief in the purpose of your life and a feeling of connection to the divine. It’s a powerful way to begin your day by placing your attention upon the Lord and aligning your thoughts and actions with His will.

Another way to enhance your prayer practice is to make it more interactive. Instead of reciting the words, try to engage with God in a deeper way. Use your imagination and try to picture the scenes described in the Bible. Make an effort to experience the emotion of each character, and put yourself in their position. This will make your prayer time more personal and meaningful.

You can also try incorporating different types of prayer into your daily routine. For example, try silent prayers, contemplative prayers, or even writing down your prayers. This will keep your prayer routine from becoming boring and will add the variety you need to your spiritual practice.

One of the best methods to keep yourself engaged and focused on your prayer practice is by sharing it with others. Find a accountability partner, a friend or family member who will be checking in with you and help you to keep to your routine. They may even be a part of your prayer and share their own experiences.

The goal of daily prayer is to strengthen your relationship with God and ensure that your actions and thoughts are in line to His plan. It’s not about achieving perfection or following the strict rules, it’s about being consistent and deliberate in your spiritual life. Therefore, make the effort to create a routine of prayer that works for you and incorporate it in your day-to-day life.
