Begin by approaching God, ask for his help while you read and pray.

Go through a section of the Bible and then meditate on the passage. This can be accomplished by reading it three or four times, or writing down everything it reveals about yourself, the examples you can follow, instructions to follow or promises to claim.

Make your prayer a ritual by praying for adoration, confession, petition, and thanksgiving. Prayerfully address your immediate needs and worries, and take time to enjoy God’s presence.

The great thing about a prayer routine is that it’s customizable to fit your needs. For some, you may have only some minutes while others might have an hour or more. The trick is making it a consistent element of your day-to-day routine. If you don’t make it through the occasional day or two do not fret! You can get back on track for the next day.

A daily prayer practice is an excellent method to begin the new year with a renewed sense of purpose and connection with the divine. It’s a powerful way to begin your day by keeping your eyes upon the Lord and making sure that your actions and thoughts are aligned with His will.

Another way to enhance your prayer time is to make it more interactive. Instead of just reciting words, try to engage with God in a deeper way. Try using your imagination to visualize the scenes within the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters and place yourself in their shoes. This makes your time of prayer more personal and meaningful.

Try incorporating different types prayers into your daily routine. For example, try silent prayer, contemplative prayer or even journaling your prayers. This will keep your prayer practice from becoming monotonous and add variety to your spiritual routine.

Find a partner in accountability either a close friend or family member who can check in with you and encourage you to stick to your schedule. They may even be a part of your prayer and share their personal experiences.

The goal of daily prayer is to strengthen your relationship with God and align your thoughts and actions with His will.
