The most challenging part of praying is making it a consistent part of our life. However, with a time and planning it is possible to create your own prayer routine that is suitable for you and your schedule. And the best part is, you are able to modify it to fit your personality and spiritual tradition.

Let’s be real, life is hectic and it’s easy for prayer to slip down on the priority list. However, just like everything else that’s worth being a part of, it requires effort and discipline. That’s where developing a prayer routine comes in. It provides structure and accountability to ensure that we’re in contact with God on a an ongoing basis.

So, how do you get started? It’s the first thing to do is figure out the time of day that is most conducive to you to pray. Some people prefer to start their day with prayer, and others prefer to pray in the evening before going to getting to bed. Try it out and discover which method works best for you.

After you’ve decided on the most appropriate time to pray You can begin to establish a routine. Here’s an example of a daily pattern for prayer in the morning:

Begin by talking to God and asking for his presence as you read and meditate.

Take a chapter from the Bible and meditate on it for a while. This can be accomplished by reading it three or four times, or writing down anything it tells you about yourself, or examples to follow, commands to follow or promises to keep.

Structure your prayer by offering adoration, confession as well as petition and thanksgiving. Pray for your needs and pressing concerns, and take time to enjoy God’s presence.

The beauty of the prayer time routine is that it is customizable to meet your requirements. For some, you may have only some minutes while others might have an hours or longer. The trick is that you make this a constant part of your routine. If you fall off a day or two do not fret! Get back on track the following day.

A daily prayer practice is a great method to begin this new year feeling a new feeling of purpose and spiritual connection with God. It’s an effective way to start your day, putting your focus upon the Lord and making sure that your actions and thoughts are aligned in accordance with His plan.

Another way to increase your prayer time is to make it more engaging. Instead of just reciting words, you should try to connect with God on a deeper level. Use your imagination and try to picture the scenes described in the Bible. Make an effort to experience the emotion of each character, and put yourself in their position. This will make your prayer time more meaningful and personal.

Try incorporating different types in your prayer daily routine. For example, try a silent prayers, contemplative prayers, or even writing your prayers. This will prevent your prayer routine from becoming monotonous and add some variety to your daily spiritual routine.

One of the best ways to stay motivated and on track with your daily prayers is sharing it with other people. Find an accountability partner, a family member or friend member who will check in with you and help you to keep to your daily routine. They can even be a part of your prayers and share their own experiences.

Rememberthat the purpose of daily prayer is to deepen your relationship with God and make sure that your thoughts and actions are aligned with His will. It’s not about perfectionism or following an unwritten set of guidelines, but rather being intentional and consistent in your spiritual life. So, take the time to create a routine of prayer that is a good fit for you and incorporate it in your day-to-day life. You’ll be amazed by how much difference it makes in your spiritual growth as well as overall wellbeing.
