How do you start? It’s the first thing to do is figure out what time of day is most conducive to you to pray. Some people prefer to start their day with prayer while others prefer to pray at night before getting to bed. Experiment and see which method works best for you.
Once you’ve determined the best time for prayer, you can start building your daily routine. Here’s an example of a pattern that you can follow daily for prayer in the morning:
Begin by approaching God to ask for his blessing while you read and pray.
Take a chapter from the Bible and reflect on the passage. This can be accomplished by reading it three to four times, or listing everything it reveals about yourself or guidelines to follow or promises to make.
Structure your prayer by offering adoration, confession, petition, and thanksgiving. Make a prayer for your immediate needs and worries and then take time to be in God’s presence.
The best thing about praying is that it’s customizable to fit your needs. Some people may only have some minutes while others might have a half an hours or longer. It’s important that you make this a regular part of your routine. And if you miss a day or two, don’t sweat it! Get back on track the next day.

Another method to improve your prayer routine is to enhance it by making it more interactive. Instead of reciting the words, you should try to connect with God on a deeper level. Use your imagination and try to visualize the scenes within the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters, and put yourself in their shoes. This can make your time in prayer more personal and meaningful.
Try incorporating various forms prayers into your day-to-day routine. For example, try silent prayers, contemplative prayers, or even writing down your prayers. This can keep your prayer routine from becoming monotonous and add variety to your spiritual routine.
One of the best methods to keep yourself motivated and on track with your daily prayers is sharing it with other people. Find an accountability partner, a friend or family member who will be checking in with you and encourage you to keep to your daily routine. They could even join you in prayer and share their own experiences.
Remember, the goal of a regular prayer routine is to increase your connection with God and ensure that your actions and thoughts are in line in accordance with His plans.
