Life can be hectic and it’s easy to let prayer slide off the list of priorities. But just like anything other thing worth being a part of, it requires dedication and discipline. This is where the creation of the habit of praying comes into. It helps us establish a structure and accountability to ensure we’re connecting with the divine on an ongoing basis.

Once you’ve determined the best time for prayer, you can start building your daily routine. Here’s an illustration of a typical daily routine for morning prayer:
Begin by talking to God and asking for his presence as you read and meditate.
Read a passage from the Bible and reflect on it. This can be accomplished by reading it three or four times or by listing the things it says about yourself, or the examples you can follow, instructions to obey , or promises to make.
Your prayer should be structured by offering adoration, confession as well as petition and thanksgiving. Pray for your needs and pressing concerns as well as taking time to be in God’s presence.
The great thing about the prayer time routine is that it’s customizable to meet your requirements. Many people might only have just a few minutes and others could be able to devote a whole hour or more. The key is to make it a consistent element of your day-to-day routine. If you don’t make it through a day or two, don’t sweat it! Just get back on track for the next day.
A daily prayer practice is a great way to start this new year feeling a renewed belief in the purpose of your life and a feeling of connection to the divine. It’s a powerful method to start your day, keeping your eyes on the Lord and aligning your thoughts and actions to His plans.
Another method to improve your prayer time is to enhance it by making it more interactive. Instead of simply reciting words, try to engage with God in a deeper way. Use your imagination and try to picture the scenes described by the Bible. Make an effort to experience the emotion of each character and place yourself in their position. This makes your time of prayer more meaningful and personal.
Try incorporating different forms prayers into your day-to-day routine. For example, try silent prayers, contemplative prayers, or even journaling your prayers. This will keep your prayer practice from becoming repetitive and provide the variety you need to your spiritual practice.
One of the best ways to remain focused and in line with your prayer practice is by sharing it with other people. Find a partner in accountability, a family member or friend member who can check in with you and help you to adhere to your routine. They may even be a part of your prayers and share their own experiences.
Remember, the goal of a daily prayer practice is to deepen your relationship with God and ensure that your actions and thoughts are in line in accordance with His plans.
