The most challenging part of praying is making it a consistent part of our life. However, with a time and planning, you can create an effective prayer schedule that works for you and your time. And the greatest part is that you get to customize it to fit your personality and your spiritual beliefs.

It’s true that life can be busy and it’s easy for prayer to slide off the list of priorities. But just like anything other thing worth being a part of, it requires commitment and discipline. This is where the creation of the habit of praying comes into. It helps us establish a structure and accountability to make sure we are connecting with the divine on an ongoing basis.

So, how do you begin? It’s the first thing to do is determine which time of the day is most conducive to you to pray. Some prefer to begin their day with prayer, and others prefer to pray at night before going to bed. Try it out and discover which method works best for you.

Once you’ve determined the best time to pray You can begin to establish a routine. Here’s an example of a daily pattern for morning prayers:

Begin by approaching God and asking for his presence as you read and pray.

Take a chapter from the Bible and then meditate on the passage. This can be accomplished by reading the passage three to four times, or writing down anything it tells you about yourself or the examples you can follow, instructions to obey or promises to claim.

Structure your prayer by praying for adoration, confession prayer, thanksgiving, and petition. Prayerfully address your urgent needs and concerns and then take time to sit in the presence of God.

The great thing about a prayer routine is that it is customizable to meet your requirements. Many people might only have a few minutes to spare and others could have a half an hour or more. It’s important making it a constant part of your daily routine. If you fall off the occasional day or two Don’t be concerned! Just get back on track for the next day.

The practice of daily prayer is an excellent method to begin your new year off with a new sense of purpose and feeling of connection to the divine. It’s a powerful method to start your day, placing your attention to the Lord and aligning your thoughts and actions to His plans.

Another method to improve your prayer practice is to make it more interactive. Instead of simply reciting words, you should try to connect with God on a deeper level. Try using your imagination to imagine the scenes that are described by the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters, and put yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This makes your time of prayer more personal and meaningful.

Try incorporating various forms prayers into your day-to-day routine. For instance, you can try silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even writing your prayers. This can keep your prayer routine from becoming repetitive and provide the variety you need to your spiritual practice.

One of the most effective ways to remain focused and in line with your daily prayer routine is sharing the practice with other people. Find a partner in accountability, a friend or family member who will be checking in with you and encourage you to stick to your routine. They can even be a part of your prayers and share their own experiences.

Remember, the goal of a regular prayer routine is to increase your connection with God and align your thoughts and actions to His plan. It’s not about achieving perfection or following an unwritten set of rules, it’s about being consistent and deliberate in your daily spiritual practice. Therefore, make the effort to discover a prayer practice that you enjoy and incorporate it in your daily life.
