The most difficult aspect of praying is to make it a regular part of our life. With a amount of planning and effort you can develop a prayer routine that works for you and your schedule. The best part is, you can customize it to match your own personality and your spiritual beliefs.

It’s true that life is hectic and it’s easy to let prayers slip down on the priority list. However, just like everything else that’s worth having, it takes effort and discipline. This is where the creation of a prayer routine comes in. It gives the structure and accountability needed to make sure we are connecting with the divine on regularly.

So, how do you begin? It’s the first thing to do is decide what time of day works best for you to pray. Some prefer to begin their day by praying, and others prefer to pray in the evening before going to getting to bed. Test and see what works best for you.

Once you’ve determined the best time to pray, you can start to build your routine. Here’s an example of a pattern that you can follow daily for prayer in the morning:

Begin by approaching God, ask for his blessing while you read and pray.

Read a passage from the Bible and reflect on it. This can be accomplished by reading it three to four times or by listing everything it reveals about yourself or examples to follow, commands to obey or promises to keep.

Structure your prayer by offering adoration, confession, petition, and thanksgiving. Prayerfully address your immediate needs and worries and then take time to be in God’s presence.

The best thing about the prayer time routine is that it is customizable to fit your needs. Many people might only have some minutes while others might be able to devote a whole hours or longer. The key is making it a consistent element of your day-to-day routine. If you fall off the occasional day or two do not fret! Get back on track the following day.

A daily prayer practice is an excellent way to start this new year feeling a fresh belief in the purpose of your life and a feeling of connection to the divine. It’s an effective way to start your day, putting your focus to the Lord and aligning your thoughts and actions in accordance with His plan.

Another way to increase your prayer routine is to create a more interactive. Instead of simply reciting words, try to engage with God at a deeper level. Try using your imagination to visualize the scenes by the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters and put yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This can make your time in prayer more meaningful and personal.

You can also try incorporating different forms in your prayer routine. For instance, you can try silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even journaling your prayers. This can keep your prayer practice from becoming monotonous and add variety to your spiritual routine.

One of the best methods to keep yourself motivated and on track with your daily prayers is sharing it with other people. Find an accountability partner, a friend or family member who can check on you regularly and help you to adhere to your routine. They can even be a part of your prayers and share their own experiences.

Rememberthat the purpose of a daily prayer practice is to deepen your relationship with God and align your thoughts and actions in accordance with His plans. It’s not about perfection or following the strict rules, it’s about being deliberate and consistent in your spiritual life. Therefore, make the effort to create a routine of prayer that is a good fit for you and make it a priority within your everyday life.
