It’s true that life can be hectic and it’s easy to let prayer slide off the list of priorities. However, just like everything other thing worth being a part of, it requires effort and discipline. That’s where developing the habit of praying comes into. It helps us establish a an order and accountability to make sure we are connected to God on a a regular basis.

So, how do you start? The first step is to figure out the time of day that works best for you to pray. Some people prefer to start their day with prayer while others find it easier to pray at night before going to bed. Test and see which method works best for you.

Once you’ve determined the best time for prayer You can begin to establish a routine. Here’s an illustration of a typical daily routine for prayer in the morning:

Begin by talking to God, ask for his presence as you read and pray.

Take a chapter from the Bible and then meditate on the passage. This can be accomplished by reading it three or four times, or writing down everything it reveals about yourself or guidelines to follow or promises to claim.

Structure your prayer by making confession, adoration prayer, thanksgiving, and petition. Make a prayer for your urgent needs and concerns, and take time to sit in the presence of God.

The best thing about praying is that it is customizable to meet your requirements. Many people might only have some minutes and others could have a half an hour or more. The key is that you make this a regular part of your routine. If you don’t make it through a day or two, don’t sweat it! You can get back on track for the next day.

An everyday prayer practice is a wonderful opportunity to begin the new year with a renewed belief in the purpose of your life and a connection with the divine. It’s a powerful way to begin your day by keeping your eyes upon the Lord and aligning your thoughts and actions with His will.

Another way to enhance your prayer practice is to make it more engaging. Instead of just reciting words, you should try to connect with God at a deeper level. Make use of your imagination and try to visualize the scenes within the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters, and put yourself in their shoes. This makes your time of prayer more personal and meaningful.

It is also possible to incorporate different types in your prayer daily routine. For instance, you can try silent prayer, contemplative prayer or even journaling your prayers. This will prevent your prayer routine from becoming repetitive and provide some variety to your daily spiritual routine.

One of the most effective ways to remain motivated and on track with your daily prayers is sharing the practice with others. Find an accountability partner, a family member or friend member who will check in with you and help you to stick to your routine. They can even be a part of your prayer and share their personal experiences.

Rememberthat the purpose of a daily prayer practice is to strengthen your relationship with God and make sure that your thoughts and actions are aligned to His plan. It’s not about perfection or adhering to an unwritten set of rules, it’s about being consistent and deliberate in your life of faith. Therefore, make the effort to find a prayer routine that is a good fit for you and set it as a priority within your everyday life.
