Once you’ve determined the best time to pray then you can begin to establish a routine. Here’s an illustration of a typical daily routine for prayer in the morning:
Begin by talking to God to ask for his help as you read and meditate.
Take a chapter from the Bible and then meditate on the passage. This can be accomplished by reading it three or four times, or writing down the things it says about yourself, the examples you can follow, instructions to obey or promises to make.
Structure your prayer by making confession, adoration, petition, and thanksgiving. Make a prayer for your urgent needs and concerns and then take time to enjoy God’s presence.
The great thing about the prayer time routine is that it’s customizable to meet your requirements. Many people might only have a few minutes to spare and others could have an time or even more. The key is that you make this a regular part of your daily routine. If you fall off a day or two do not fret! Just get back on track the following day.
An everyday prayer practice is a great opportunity to begin this new year feeling a renewed feeling of purpose and feeling of connection to the divine. It’s an effective way to start your day, keeping your eyes to the Lord and aligning your thoughts and actions to His plans.
Another way to enhance your prayer routine is to create a more engaging. Instead of reciting the phrases, try engaging with God at a deeper level. Make use of your imagination and try to imagine the scenes that are described by the Bible. You can try to imagine the feelings of these characters and put yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This will make your prayer time more meaningful and personal.
It is also possible to incorporate various forms prayers into your routine. For example, try silent prayers, contemplative prayers, or even journaling your prayers. This will keep your prayer practice from becoming boring and will add the variety you need to your spiritual practice.
One of the most effective methods to keep yourself engaged and focused on your prayer practice is by sharing it with other people. Find an accountability partner either a close friend or family member who can check in with you and help you to stick to your routine. They may even join you in prayer and share their own experiences.
The goal of daily prayer is to strengthen your relationship with God and align your thoughts and actions with His will.
