Think of it as your spiritual exercise, similar to as you workout to stay in shape, a daily prayer practice keeps your soul healthy and in tune with the Divine.

The most difficult aspect of prayer is making it a constant part of our lives. But with a little bit of planning and effort, you can create an effective prayer schedule that works for you and your schedule. And the most appealing part is that you get to customize the ritual to suit your personal preferences and religious tradition.

Life can be busy and it’s easy to let prayer get lost on the list of priorities. But just like anything else worth being a part of, it requires commitment and discipline. This is where the creation of the habit of praying comes into. It gives an order and accountability to make sure we are in contact with God on a regularly.

So, how do you begin? It’s the first thing to do is determine which time of the day is the most suitable time to pray. Some people prefer to start their day with prayer while others prefer to pray at night before bed. Try it out and discover what works best for you.

After you’ve decided on the most appropriate time for prayer then you can begin building your daily routine. Here’s an illustration of a typical daily routine for morning prayer:

Begin by talking to God, ask for his blessing while you read and pray.

Read a passage from the Bible and reflect on it for a while. This can be accomplished by reading it three or four times or by listing anything it tells you about yourself or guidelines to obey , or promises to keep.

Structure your prayer by making confession, adoration as well as petition and thanksgiving. Pray for your immediate needs and worries, and take time to be in God’s presence.

The beauty of the prayer time routine is that it’s customizable to suit your needs. For some, you may have only some minutes and others could have an hour or more. The key is making it a regular element of your day-to-day routine. And if you miss a day or two do not fret! Get back on track for the next day.

An everyday prayer practice is a great way to start the new year with a fresh feeling of purpose and feeling of connection to the divine. It’s a powerful method to begin your day by keeping your eyes to the Lord and aligning your thoughts and actions to His plans.

Another way to increase your prayer time is to make it more interactive. Instead of just reciting words, you should try to connect with God on a deeper level. Make use of your imagination and try to visualize the scenes within the Bible. You can try to imagine the feelings of these characters and place yourself in their position. This can make your time in prayer more personal and meaningful.

Try incorporating different forms prayers into your daily routine. For example, try a silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even writing your prayers. This will keep your prayer routine from becoming repetitive and provide some variety to your daily spiritual routine.

One of the best ways to remain motivated and on track with your daily prayers is sharing your practice with other people. Find an accountability partner either a close friend or family member who will check in with you and encourage you to stick to your daily routine. They could even be a part of your prayer and share their personal experiences.

Rememberthat the purpose of a regular prayer routine is to increase your connection with God and make sure that your thoughts and actions are aligned to His plan. It’s not about achieving perfection or following the strict rules, it’s about being intentional and consistent in your daily spiritual practice. Therefore, make the effort to find a prayer routine that is a good fit for you and incorporate it within your everyday life. You’ll be amazed at the difference it can make on your spiritual growth and overall health.
