Begin by talking to God, ask for his presence as you read and meditate.
Read a passage from the Bible and then meditate on the passage. It can be done by reading it three or four times or by listing anything it tells you about yourself or examples to follow, commands to obey or promises to keep.
Structure your prayer by offering adoration, confession prayer, thanksgiving, and petition. Make a prayer for your immediate needs and worries and then take time to be in God’s presence.
The great thing about praying is that it’s customizable to suit your needs. Some people may only have just a few minutes and others could have a half an time or even more. The key is to make it a constant part of your daily routine. If you don’t make it through a day or two Don’t be concerned! Get back on track for the next day.

Another method to improve your prayer routine is to enhance it by making it more interactive. Instead of reciting the phrases, try engaging with God on a deeper level. Make use of your imagination and try to visualize the scenes within the Bible. You can try to imagine the feelings of these characters and place yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This can make your time in prayer more meaningful and personal.
You can also try incorporating different forms prayers into your daily routine. For instance, you can try silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even journaling your prayers. This will keep your prayer practice from becoming monotonous and add some variety to your daily spiritual routine.

Find an accountability partner either a close friend or family member who can check on you regularly and help you to adhere to your schedule. They can even be a part of your prayers and share their own experiences.
