Go through a section of the Bible and reflect on the passage. This can be done by reading the passage three to four times or by listing everything it reveals about yourself, examples to follow, commands to obey or promises to keep.

Structure your prayer by praying for adoration, confession as well as petition and thanksgiving. Prayerfully address your urgent needs and concerns, and take time to enjoy God’s presence.

Another method to improve your prayer routine is to make it more engaging. Instead of reciting the words, try to engage with God in a deeper way. Make use of your imagination and try to picture the scenes described by the Bible. You can try to imagine the feelings of these characters and place yourself in their shoes. This will make your prayer time more meaningful and personal.

It is also possible to incorporate different forms prayers into your daily routine. For instance, you can try silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even journaling your prayers. This can keep your prayer routine from becoming boring and will add the variety you need to your spiritual practice.

Find a accountability partner, a family member or friend member who will check in with you and encourage you to keep to your schedule. They could even join you in prayers and share their own experiences.
