After you’ve decided on the most appropriate time for prayer You can begin to establish a routine. Here’s an illustration of a typical daily routine for morning prayer:

Begin by talking to God to ask for his help while you read and pray.

Go through a section of the Bible and reflect on it for a while. This can be accomplished by reading it three to four times, or writing down everything it reveals about yourself, or guidelines to follow or promises to claim.

Structure your prayer by praying for adoration, confession as well as petition and thanksgiving. Prayerfully address your needs and pressing concerns, and take time to enjoy God’s presence.

The best thing about a prayer routine is that it’s customizable to suit your needs. For some, you may have only a few minutes to spare, while others may have an hour or more. This makes your time of prayer more meaningful and personal.
