After you’ve decided on the most appropriate time for prayer then you can begin building your daily routine. Here’s an example of a pattern that you can follow daily for prayer in the morning:
Begin by addressing God to ask for his blessing as you read and meditate.
Take a chapter from the Bible and meditate on it. It can be done by reading it three to four times, or listing everything it reveals about yourself or guidelines to obey or promises to make.
Your prayer should be structured by making confession, adoration as well as petition and thanksgiving. Make a prayer for your immediate needs and worries as well as taking time to be in God’s presence.
The beauty of the prayer time routine is that it’s customizable to meet your requirements. For some, you may have only some minutes and others could have a half an hour or more. The key is to make it a regular part of your routine. If you fall off one or two days, don’t sweat it! You can get back on track for the next day.
An everyday prayer practice is an excellent way to start your new year off with a fresh feeling of purpose and spiritual connection with God. It’s an effective way to begin your day by placing your attention upon the Lord and making sure that your actions and thoughts are aligned with His will.
Another way to increase your prayer routine is to enhance it by making it more interactive. Instead of reciting the phrases, try engaging with God on a deeper level. Make use of your imagination and try to picture the scenes described by the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters, and put yourself in their position. This will make your prayer time more personal and meaningful.
It is also possible to incorporate various forms prayers into your day-to-day routine. For example, try a silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even journaling your prayers. This can keep your prayer practice from becoming boring and will add some variety to your daily spiritual routine.
One of the most effective ways to stay focused and in line with your daily prayers is sharing the practice with others. Find a partner in accountability, a family member or friend member who will check on you regularly and help you to keep to your routine. They may even join you in prayer and share their own experiences.
The goal of a regular prayer routine is to increase your connection with God and make sure that your thoughts and actions are aligned in accordance with His plans.
