Once you’ve determined the best time to pray then you can begin to establish a routine. Here’s an illustration of a typical daily routine for morning prayer:
Begin by addressing God to ask for his presence while you read and pray.
Take a chapter from the Bible and meditate on it. It can be done by reading it three or four times, or listing everything it reveals about yourself, guidelines to follow or promises to keep.
Your prayer should be structured by offering adoration, confession prayer, thanksgiving, and petition. Prayerfully address your immediate needs and worries, and take time to be in God’s presence.
The beauty of the prayer time routine is that it’s customizable to fit your needs. Many people might only have a few minutes to spare, while others may be able to devote a whole hour or more. Try using your imagination to visualize the scenes by the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters, and put yourself in their position. This can make your time in prayer more meaningful and personal.
It is also possible to incorporate different types prayers into your daily routine. For example, try a silent prayers, contemplative prayers, or even writing down your prayers. They may even be a part of your prayer and share their own experiences.
