The most difficult aspect of praying is making it a constant part of our daily life. However, with a time and planning, you can create a prayer routine that works with your lifestyle and schedule. And the best part is, you get to customize it to fit your personality and your spiritual beliefs.

Life is hectic and it’s easy for prayer to slide off the priority list. Like everything other thing worth having, it takes effort and discipline. That’s where developing a prayer routine comes in. It provides structure and accountability to make sure we are connected to God on a regularly.

How do you begin? It’s the first thing to do is decide the time of day that works best for you to pray. Some prefer to begin their day with prayer and others prefer to pray at night before going to bed. Test and see what works best for you.

Once you’ve identified the ideal time to pray then you can begin to build your routine. Here’s an example of a pattern that you can follow daily for prayer in the morning:

Begin by approaching God to ask for his help while you read and pray.

Take a chapter from the Bible and then meditate on it for a while. This can be accomplished by reading it three to four times, or listing the things it says about yourself, or examples to follow, commands to follow or promises to claim.

Make your prayer a ritual by making confession, adoration as well as petition and thanksgiving. Make a prayer for your immediate needs and worries and then take time to enjoy God’s presence.

The beauty of the prayer time routine is that it is customizable to suit your needs. Many people might only have a few minutes to spare and others could have a half an hour or more. The trick is making it a consistent element of your day-to-day routine. If you fall off the occasional day or two Don’t be concerned! You can get back on track the next day.

The practice of daily prayer is a wonderful method to begin this new year feeling a fresh feeling of purpose and feeling of connection to the divine. It’s a powerful method to start your day, keeping your eyes upon the Lord and aligning your thoughts and actions with His will.

Another method to improve your prayer routine is to enhance it by making it more interactive. Instead of simply reciting words, you should try to connect with God at a deeper level. Make use of your imagination and try to picture the scenes described by the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters and place yourself in their position. This can make your time in prayer more meaningful and personal.

You can also try incorporating different types prayers into your day-to-day routine. For instance, you can try silent prayer, contemplative prayer or even journaling your prayers. This will prevent your prayer routine from becoming boring and will add some variety to your daily spiritual routine.

One of the best ways to remain focused and in line with your daily prayer routine is sharing the practice with others. Find a accountability partner either a close friend or family member who can check on you regularly and help you to keep to your schedule. They may even be a part of your prayers and share their own experiences.

The goal of a daily prayer practice is to strengthen your relationship with God and ensure that your actions and thoughts are in line to His plan. It’s not about achieving perfection or adhering to an unwritten set of guidelines, but rather being intentional and consistent in your life of faith. So, take the time to create a routine of prayer that is a good fit for you and incorporate it in your daily life. You’ll be amazed at how much difference it makes on your spiritual growth as well as overall wellbeing.
