Begin by approaching God, ask for his presence while you read and pray.

Take a chapter from the Bible and reflect on it. This can be done by reading it three to four times or by listing anything it tells you about yourself, or guidelines to obey , or promises to claim.

Your prayer should be structured by offering adoration, confession prayer, thanksgiving, and petition. Make a prayer for your immediate needs and worries as well as taking time to be in God’s presence.

Some people may only have a few minutes to spare and others could be able to devote a whole hours or longer. It’s important to make it a regular part of your daily routine. Use your imagination and try to picture the scenes described within the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters and place yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This will make your prayer time more meaningful and personal.

You can also try incorporating various forms prayers into your day-to-day routine. For example, try silent prayer, contemplative prayer or even writing down your prayers. This will prevent your prayer routine from becoming repetitive and provide the variety you need to your spiritual practice.

Find a accountability partner either a close friend or family member who will be checking on you regularly and help you to keep to your daily routine. They may even join you in prayers and share their own experiences.
