The most appealing part is that you get to customize it to fit your personality and religious tradition.

Let’s be real, life can be busy and it’s easy to let prayer get lost on the list of priorities. Like everything else that’s worth being a part of, it requires dedication and discipline. This is where the creation of the habit of praying comes into. It provides an order and accountability to ensure we’re connected to God on a an ongoing basis.

So, how do you begin? The first step is to determine what time of day is the most suitable time to pray. Some people like to start their day with prayer while others find it easier to pray at night before bed. Test and see which method works best for you.

Once you’ve determined the best time to pray, you can start building your daily routine. Here’s an example of a daily pattern for morning prayer:

Begin by addressing God and asking for his blessing while you read and pray.

Go through a section of the Bible and reflect on it for a while. This can be done by reading it three or four times or by listing everything it reveals about yourself, or the examples you can follow, instructions to obey , or promises to keep.

Make your prayer a ritual by making confession, adoration as well as petition and thanksgiving. Make a prayer for your immediate needs and worries and then take time to sit in the presence of God.

The great thing about the prayer time routine is that it’s customizable to fit your needs. Many people might only have just a few minutes while others might be able to devote a whole hours or longer. The trick is to make it a consistent part of your routine. And if you miss one or two days Don’t be concerned! Get back on track for the next day.

An everyday prayer practice is an excellent opportunity to begin your new year off with a new sense of purpose and connection with the divine. It’s a powerful method to begin your day by keeping your eyes to the Lord and making sure that your actions and thoughts are aligned in accordance with His plan.

Another way to increase your prayer time is to make it more engaging. Instead of reciting the phrases, try engaging with God in a deeper way. Use your imagination and try to imagine the scenes that are described in the Bible. Make an effort to experience the emotion of each character and place yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This can make your time in prayer more meaningful and personal.

You can also try incorporating different forms prayers into your day-to-day routine. For instance, you can try silent prayer, contemplative prayer or even writing your prayers. This will keep your prayer routine from becoming boring and will add the variety you need to your spiritual practice.

One of the best ways to stay engaged and focused on your prayer practice is by sharing your practice with others. Find a partner in accountability either a close friend or family member who can check on you regularly and help you to adhere to your routine. They can even join you in prayers and share their own experiences.

The goal of a daily prayer practice is to increase your connection with God and ensure that your actions and thoughts are in line with His will. It’s not about achieving perfection or adhering to a strict set of guidelines, but rather being intentional and consistent in your daily spiritual practice. Therefore, make the effort to find a prayer routine that is a good fit for you and incorporate it in your day-to-day life.
