Begin by addressing God, ask for his presence while you read and pray.
Take a chapter from the Bible and then meditate on the passage. It can be done by reading it three to four times or by listing everything it reveals about yourself or the examples you can follow, instructions to follow or promises to keep.
Structure your prayer by making confession, adoration prayer, thanksgiving, and petition. Make a prayer for your immediate needs and worries and then take time to sit in the presence of God.
The beauty of praying is that it is customizable to meet your requirements. Some people may only have just a few minutes, while others may have an hour or more. Use your imagination and try to visualize the scenes within the Bible. Make an effort to experience the emotion of each character and place yourself in their position. This makes your time of prayer more meaningful and personal.
It is also possible to incorporate various forms of prayer into your daily routine. For instance, you can try silent prayer, contemplative prayer or even writing your prayers. This will prevent your prayer routine from becoming monotonous and add variety to your spiritual routine.
One of the best methods to keep yourself engaged and focused on your daily prayers is sharing the practice with other people. Find an accountability partner either a close friend or family member who can check on you regularly and help you to stick to your daily routine. They can even be a part of your prayer and share their personal experiences.
Remember, the goal of a regular prayer routine is to strengthen your relationship with God and align your thoughts and actions to His plan.
