The most difficult aspect of prayer is making it a constant element of our daily lives. With a bit of planning and effort you can develop your own prayer routine that is suitable for you and your time. And the best part is, you get to customize it to match your own personality and your spiritual beliefs.

Let’s be real, life can be busy and it’s easy to let prayers slip down on the priority list. But just like anything else that’s worth having, it requires effort and discipline. This is where the creation of an effective prayer schedule comes in. It gives structure and accountability to ensure that we’re connected to God on a regularly.

How do you start? The first step is to determine the time of day that is the most suitable time to pray. Some people like to start their day by praying, while others prefer to pray before going to bed. Try it out and discover which method works best for you.

After you’ve decided on the most appropriate time for prayer then you can begin to build your routine. Here’s an example of a pattern that you can follow daily for prayer in the morning:

Begin by talking to God and asking for his presence while you read and pray.

Take a chapter from the Bible and then meditate on the passage. It can be done by reading it three to four times, or writing down everything it reveals about yourself, or the examples you can follow, instructions to follow or promises to claim.

Structure your prayer by making confession, adoration, petition, and thanksgiving. Make a prayer for your needs and pressing concerns and then take time to sit in the presence of God.

The best thing about praying is that it is customizable to meet your requirements. Some people may only have some minutes and others could have a half an hours or longer. It’s important that you make this a consistent part of your daily routine. If you don’t make it through one or two days do not fret! Just get back on track the next day.

An everyday prayer practice is an excellent method to begin the new year with a fresh feeling of purpose and connection with the divine. It’s a powerful method to start your day, keeping your eyes to the Lord and aligning your thoughts and actions to His plans.

Another way to enhance your prayer practice is to create a more engaging. Instead of just reciting words, try to engage with God in a deeper way. Try using your imagination to visualize the scenes in the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters, and put yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This can make your time in prayer more meaningful and personal.

You can also try incorporating different types prayers into your daily routine. For example, try a silent prayers, contemplative prayers, or even writing your prayers. This will prevent your prayer practice from becoming boring and will add some variety to your daily spiritual routine.

One of the best methods to keep yourself engaged and focused on your prayer practice is by sharing your practice with other people. Find an accountability partner, a family member or friend member who will check on you regularly and help you to keep to your routine. They may even be a part of your prayers and share their own experiences.

Remember, the goal of a regular prayer routine is to strengthen your relationship with God and ensure that your actions and thoughts are in line with His will. It’s not about perfection or following an unwritten set of rules, it’s about being intentional and consistent in your life of faith. So, take the time to create a routine of prayer that you enjoy and set it as a priority within your everyday life.
