Once you’ve determined the best time to pray You can begin to build your routine. Here’s an example of a daily pattern for morning prayers:
Begin by talking to God and asking for his help as you read and meditate.
Take a chapter from the Bible and then meditate on the passage. This can be accomplished by reading it three to four times, or writing down anything it tells you about yourself, or examples to follow, commands to follow or promises to make.
Make your prayer a ritual by praying for adoration, confession as well as petition and thanksgiving. Prayerfully address your immediate needs and worries and then take time to be in God’s presence.
The beauty of the prayer time routine is that it’s customizable to fit your needs. Many people might only have some minutes while others might be able to devote a whole hours or longer. It’s important that you make this a consistent part of your routine. And if you miss the occasional day or two, don’t sweat it! Just get back on track for the next day.
An everyday prayer practice is an excellent opportunity to begin this new year feeling a fresh sense of purpose and spiritual connection with God. It’s a powerful way to begin your day by putting your focus to the Lord and making sure that your actions and thoughts are aligned with His will.
Another way to increase your prayer routine is to make it more interactive. Instead of reciting the phrases, try engaging with God on a deeper level. Try using your imagination to imagine the scenes that are described within the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters and put yourself in their position. This makes your time of prayer more meaningful and personal.
You can also try incorporating different forms prayers into your daily routine. For instance, you can try silent prayer, contemplative prayer or even writing your prayers. This can keep your prayer practice from becoming repetitive and provide some variety to your daily spiritual routine.
