This is where the creation of a prayer routine comes in. It gives the structure and accountability needed to make sure we are connecting with the divine on regularly.

How do you start? It’s the first thing to do is decide which time of the day is most conducive to you to pray. Some people like to start their day with prayer, while others find it easier to pray in the evening before going to bed. Experiment and see which method works best for you.

After you’ve decided on the most appropriate time to pray You can begin to establish a routine. Here’s an example of a daily pattern for morning prayers:

Begin by talking to God, ask for his blessing while you read and pray.

Read a passage from the Bible and meditate on it. This can be accomplished by reading the passage three to four times, or writing down anything it tells you about yourself, or the examples you can follow, instructions to obey or promises to keep.

Make your prayer a ritual by making confession, adoration, petition, and thanksgiving. Prayerfully address your urgent needs and concerns and then take time to sit in the presence of God.

The best thing about a prayer routine is that it can be adapted to suit your needs. Many people might only have some minutes while others might have a half an hours or longer. The trick is making it a regular element of your day-to-day routine. And if you miss the occasional day or two, don’t sweat it! You can get back on track the following day.

The practice of daily prayer is a wonderful way to start this new year feeling a new feeling of purpose and spiritual connection with God. It’s a powerful way to begin your day by keeping your eyes upon the Lord and aligning your thoughts and actions with His will.

Another way to increase your prayer practice is to enhance it by making it more interactive. Instead of just reciting phrases, try engaging with God at a deeper level. Use your imagination and try to picture the scenes described within the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters and put yourself in their shoes. This makes your time of prayer more meaningful and personal.

Try incorporating various forms prayers into your day-to-day routine. For example, try a silent prayers, contemplative prayers, or even journaling your prayers. This will keep your prayer practice from becoming repetitive and provide the variety you need to your spiritual practice.

Find a accountability partner, a friend or family member who can check in with you and help you to stick to your daily routine. They may even be a part of your prayers and share their own experiences.
