Once you’ve determined the best time for prayer, you can start to build your routine. Here’s an example of a daily pattern for morning prayer:
Begin by addressing God, ask for his presence while you read and pray.
Read a passage from the Bible and then meditate on it. This can be done by reading the passage three to four times or by listing anything it tells you about yourself or examples to follow, commands to follow or promises to claim.
Your prayer should be structured by offering adoration, confession prayer, thanksgiving, and petition. Pray for your immediate needs and worries, and take time to enjoy God’s presence.
The beauty of a prayer routine is that it can be adapted to meet your requirements. Many people might only have some minutes and others could have a half an hour or more. The key is that you make this a consistent part of your routine. And if you miss a day or two do not fret! Just get back on track for the next day.
An everyday prayer practice is an excellent opportunity to begin the new year with a fresh belief in the purpose of your life and a feeling of connection to the divine. It’s a powerful way to begin your day by placing your attention to the Lord and aligning your thoughts and actions with His will.
Another method to improve your prayer time is to enhance it by making it more engaging. Instead of just reciting phrases, try engaging with God on a deeper level. Use your imagination and try to picture the scenes described in the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters and place yourself in their position. This will make your prayer time more meaningful and personal.
You can also try incorporating various forms prayers into your daily routine. For instance, you can try silent prayer, contemplative prayer or even writing your prayers. This will keep your prayer practice from becoming monotonous and add variety to your spiritual routine.

Find an accountability partner either a close friend or family member who can check on you regularly and help you to stick to your schedule. They could even join you in prayer and share their own experiences.
