Begin by addressing God, ask for his help as you read and meditate.

Take a chapter from the Bible and meditate on it for a while. This can be done by reading it three or four times, or listing the things it says about yourself or guidelines to obey , or promises to keep.

Make your prayer a ritual by making confession, adoration, petition, and thanksgiving. Prayerfully address your needs and pressing concerns as well as taking time to enjoy God’s presence.

Another way to increase your prayer time is to enhance it by making it more interactive. Instead of simply reciting phrases, try engaging with God in a deeper way. Use your imagination and try to picture the scenes described by the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters and place yourself in their shoes. This can make your time in prayer more meaningful and personal.

Try incorporating various forms prayers into your routine. For example, try a silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even writing your prayers. This will keep your prayer routine from becoming repetitive and provide variety to your spiritual routine.
