Begin by addressing God, ask for his help as you read and meditate.
Take a chapter from the Bible and then meditate on it. This can be accomplished by reading it three to four times or by listing everything it reveals about yourself, or guidelines to obey , or promises to make.
Make your prayer a ritual by making confession, adoration, petition, and thanksgiving. Pray for your urgent needs and concerns, and take time to sit in the presence of God.
