Are you looking to take your spirituality to the highest level? One of the best methods to achieve this is to establish a regular prayer habit.
Think of it as your spiritual exercise, similar to as you workout to stay in shape, regular prayer can keep your soul strong and in tune with the Divine.
The most difficult aspect of praying is making it a consistent part of our daily life. With a bit of planning and effort it is possible to create a prayer routine that works with your lifestyle and schedule. The greatest part is that you are able to modify the ritual to suit your personal preferences and your spiritual beliefs.
Life can be busy and it’s easy for prayer to slip down on the priority list. However, just like everything other thing worth being a part of, it requires effort and discipline. This is where the creation of the habit of praying comes into. It provides structure and accountability to ensure that we’re in contact with God on a regularly.
So, how do you begin? It’s the first thing to do is decide which time of the day works best for you to pray. Some people like to start their day with prayer and others prefer to pray before going to going to bed. Test and see what works best for you.
After you’ve decided on the most appropriate time for prayer You can begin to build your routine. Here’s an example of a pattern that you can follow daily for prayer in the morning:
Begin by addressing God to ask for his presence as you read and pray.
Go through a section of the Bible and then meditate on it. It can be done by reading the passage three to four times or by listing anything it tells you about yourself, or guidelines to obey , or promises to claim.
Structure your prayer by making confession, adoration, petition, and thanksgiving. Prayerfully address your immediate needs and worries, and take time to enjoy God’s presence.
The great thing about the prayer time routine is that it’s customizable to fit your needs. For some, you may have only some minutes, while others may be able to devote a whole time or even more. The trick is to make it a constant part of your routine. If you fall off the occasional day or two Don’t be concerned! You can get back on track the following day.
A daily prayer practice is a great way to start your new year off with a new belief in the purpose of your life and a spiritual connection with God. It’s an effective way to begin your day by keeping your eyes upon the Lord and aligning your thoughts and actions with His will.
Another way to increase your prayer routine is to make it more interactive. Instead of simply reciting phrases, try engaging with God at a deeper level. Use your imagination and try to picture the scenes described by the Bible. You can try to imagine the feelings of these characters and put yourself in their position. This makes your time of prayer more meaningful and personal.
It is also possible to incorporate different forms prayers into your routine. For example, try a silent prayer, contemplative prayer or even journaling your prayers. This can keep your prayer routine from becoming boring and will add variety to your spiritual routine.
One of the best ways to remain engaged and focused on your daily prayers is sharing it with other people. Find a partner in accountability, a friend or family member who will check in with you and help you to stick to your routine. They can even join you in prayer and share their own experiences.
The goal of a regular prayer routine is to strengthen your relationship with God and make sure that your thoughts and actions are aligned in accordance with His plans. It’s not about perfection or adhering to an unwritten set of guidelines, but rather being consistent and deliberate in your spiritual life. So, take the time to find a prayer routine that is a good fit for you and make it a priority in your day-to-day life. You’ll be amazed by the impact it has on your spiritual growth as well as overall wellbeing.

God, I’m exhausted and don’t know when the “race” will end in my life. It seems as if I’ve run for ages, trying to outrun this obstacle. Help me to quit trying to run away from my pain and instead run with endurance the race that you have laid out for me.
