Begin by talking to God, ask for his presence as you read and pray.

Go through a section of the Bible and meditate on the passage. It can be done by reading the passage three to four times, or writing down everything it reveals about yourself, or guidelines to follow or promises to make.

Make your prayer a ritual by making confession, adoration, petition, and thanksgiving. Pray for your needs and pressing concerns and then take time to enjoy God’s presence.
