That’s where developing a prayer routine comes in. It provides an order and accountability to make sure we are in contact with God on a regularly.

So, how do you begin? It’s the first thing to do is decide what time of day works best for you to pray. Some people prefer to start their day with prayer while others find it easier to pray in the evening before going to getting to bed. Test and see which method works best for you.

After you’ve decided on the most appropriate time to pray You can begin building your daily routine. Here’s an illustration of a typical daily routine for prayer in the morning:

Begin by talking to God, ask for his presence as you read and pray.

Read a passage from the Bible and then meditate on it. This can be accomplished by reading it three or four times, or listing anything it tells you about yourself, the examples you can follow, instructions to follow or promises to claim.

Structure your prayer by praying for adoration, confession as well as petition and thanksgiving. Pray for your needs and pressing concerns and then take time to be in God’s presence.

The great thing about praying is that it can be adapted to suit your needs. For some, you may have only a few minutes to spare while others might have an time or even more. It’s important making it a constant part of your daily routine. If you don’t make it through one or two days Don’t be concerned! Just get back on track for the next day.

The practice of daily prayer is an excellent method to begin this new year feeling a fresh sense of purpose and connection with the divine. It’s a powerful way to start your day, keeping your eyes on the Lord and aligning your thoughts and actions with His will.

Another way to enhance your prayer time is to make it more interactive. Instead of reciting the words, try to engage with God on a deeper level. Use your imagination and try to imagine the scenes that are described by the Bible. Make an effort to experience the emotion of each character and put yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This will make your prayer time more meaningful and personal.

You can also try incorporating various forms in your prayer daily routine. For example, try a silent prayers, contemplative prayers, or even writing your prayers. This will keep your prayer practice from becoming monotonous and add some variety to your daily spiritual routine.

One of the best ways to remain motivated and on track with your daily prayer routine is sharing your practice with other people. Find an accountability partner, a friend or family member who will be checking in with you and encourage you to adhere to your daily routine. They may even be a part of your prayer and share their personal experiences.

The goal of daily prayer is to strengthen your relationship with God and align your thoughts and actions in accordance with His plans. It’s not about achieving perfection or following an unwritten set of guidelines, but rather being deliberate and consistent in your daily spiritual practice. Take the time to discover a prayer practice that is a good fit for you and set it as a priority in your daily life. You’ll be amazed by the impact it has in your spiritual growth and overall health.
