It’s true that life can be hectic and it’s easy to let prayers slip down on the list of priorities. Like everything other thing worth having, it requires effort and discipline. That’s where developing the habit of praying comes into. It gives an order and accountability to make sure we are in contact with God on a regularly.

How do you get started? It’s the first thing to do is decide the time of day that is most conducive to you to pray. Some people like to start their day by praying, while others find it easier to pray before going to bed. Test and see what works best for you.

Once you’ve determined the best time for prayer, you can start to build your routine. Here’s an example of a pattern that you can follow daily for morning prayer:

Begin by approaching God and asking for his blessing as you read and pray.

Go through a section of the Bible and meditate on it. This can be accomplished by reading it three to four times or by listing the things it says about yourself or examples to follow, commands to obey , or promises to make.

Your prayer should be structured by offering adoration, confession prayer, thanksgiving, and petition. Prayerfully address your needs and pressing concerns as well as taking time to enjoy God’s presence.

The best thing about a prayer routine is that it can be adapted to fit your needs. Many people might only have some minutes, while others may have an hours or longer. It’s important making it a regular part of your daily routine. If you fall off one or two days Don’t be concerned! Just get back on track for the next day.

The practice of daily prayer is an excellent method to begin your new year off with a fresh feeling of purpose and connection with the divine. It’s a powerful method to begin your day by placing your attention upon the Lord and aligning your thoughts and actions with His will.

Another method to improve your prayer routine is to enhance it by making it more engaging. Instead of simply reciting words, try to engage with God in a deeper way. Try using your imagination to imagine the scenes that are described in the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters, and put yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This makes your time of prayer more personal and meaningful.

Try incorporating different forms in your prayer daily routine. For example, try silent prayers, contemplative prayers, or even journaling your prayers. This can keep your prayer routine from becoming repetitive and provide the variety you need to your spiritual practice.

One of the best ways to remain motivated and on track with your daily prayer routine is sharing the practice with others. Find an accountability partner, a family member or friend member who will be checking in with you and help you to keep to your routine. They may even be a part of your prayer and share their own experiences.

Remember, the goal of a daily prayer practice is to increase your connection with God and align your thoughts and actions to His plan. It’s not about perfection or adhering to an unwritten set of rules, it’s about being intentional and consistent in your life of faith. Take the time to create a routine of prayer that is a good fit for you and make it a priority in your day-to-day life. You’ll be amazed at how much difference it makes on your spiritual growth and overall well-being.
