The most challenging aspect of praying is to make it a regular element of our daily lives. However, with a bit of planning and effort you can develop an effective prayer schedule that works for you and your time. And the most appealing part is that you are able to modify the ritual to suit your personal preferences and your spiritual beliefs.

Life is hectic and it’s easy to let prayer get lost on the list of priorities. But just like anything else that’s worth having, it takes dedication and discipline. This is where the creation of the habit of praying comes into. It provides structure and accountability to ensure we’re connecting with the divine on a regular basis.

So, how do you begin? It’s the first thing to do is decide what time of day works best for you to pray. Some prefer to begin their day by praying, and others prefer to pray in the evening before going to bed. Test and see what works for you.

Once you’ve determined the best time for prayer You can begin to establish a routine. Here’s an example of a daily pattern for morning prayer:

Begin by approaching God to ask for his presence as you read and meditate.

Go through a section of the Bible and meditate on the passage. It can be done by reading it three or four times, or writing down the things it says about yourself, the examples you can follow, instructions to obey or promises to keep.

Make your prayer a ritual by praying for adoration, confession, petition, and thanksgiving. Make a prayer for your needs and pressing concerns, and take time to sit in the presence of God.

The beauty of praying is that it’s customizable to meet your requirements. Some people may only have some minutes while others might have a half an hours or longer. The key is that you make this a consistent part of your routine. And if you miss one or two days do not fret! Just get back on track the next day.

An everyday prayer practice is an excellent method to begin your new year off with a new sense of purpose and feeling of connection to the divine. It’s a powerful method to begin your day by keeping your eyes to the Lord and making sure that your actions and thoughts are aligned with His will.

Another way to increase your prayer time is to enhance it by making it more interactive. Instead of reciting the phrases, try engaging with God on a deeper level. Make use of your imagination and try to picture the scenes described by the Bible. Make an effort to experience the emotion of each character and put yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This can make your time in prayer more meaningful and personal.

It is also possible to incorporate different forms prayers into your day-to-day routine. For instance, you can try silent prayers, contemplative prayers, or even writing your prayers. This can keep your prayer routine from becoming repetitive and provide some variety to your daily spiritual routine.

One of the best methods to keep yourself motivated and on track with your prayer practice is by sharing your practice with other people. Find a accountability partner either a close friend or family member who can check on you regularly and help you to keep to your daily routine. They can even be a part of your prayer and share their own experiences.

The goal of a daily prayer practice is to deepen your relationship with God and ensure that your actions and thoughts are in line in accordance with His plans. It’s not about perfectionism or following a strict set of rules, it’s about being consistent and deliberate in your spiritual life.
