Go through a section of the Bible and meditate on it for a while. This can be done by reading the passage three to four times, or writing down anything it tells you about yourself, or guidelines to follow or promises to keep.
Structure your prayer by making confession, adoration, petition, and thanksgiving. Make a prayer for your urgent needs and concerns, and take time to be in God’s presence.

Another method to improve your prayer time is to make it more interactive. Instead of simply reciting words, you should try to connect with God at a deeper level. Try using your imagination to picture the scenes described by the Bible. You can try to imagine the feelings of these characters, and put yourself in their shoes. This can make your time in prayer more meaningful and personal.
Try incorporating different forms prayers into your day-to-day routine. For example, try a silent prayer, contemplative prayer or even writing your prayers. This will keep your prayer practice from becoming repetitive and provide the variety you need to your spiritual practice.

Find a accountability partner, a friend or family member who will be checking in with you and encourage you to keep to your daily routine. They can even join you in prayer and share their personal experiences.
