And the best part is, you get to customize it to match your own personality and spiritual tradition.

It’s true that life is hectic and it’s easy to let prayer slip down on the list of priorities. But just like anything else worth having, it requires dedication and discipline. This is where establishing an effective prayer schedule comes in. It gives an order and accountability to make sure we are in contact with God on a a regular basis.

How do you begin? First, you must decide which time of the day works best for you to pray. Some people prefer to start their day with prayer, while others find it easier to pray in the evening before going to bed. Test and see which method works best for you.

Once you’ve identified the ideal time to pray You can begin to establish a routine. Here’s an illustration of a typical daily routine for morning prayers:

Begin by addressing God and asking for his presence as you read and pray.

Read a passage from the Bible and reflect on it for a while. It can be done by reading it three or four times, or listing the things it says about yourself, or the examples you can follow, instructions to obey or promises to keep.

Your prayer should be structured by praying for adoration, confession prayer, thanksgiving, and petition. Pray for your needs and pressing concerns as well as taking time to sit in the presence of God.

The beauty of praying is that it’s customizable to suit your needs. Some people may only have just a few minutes, while others may be able to devote a whole hours or longer. It’s important that you make this a consistent element of your day-to-day routine. And if you miss one or two days do not fret! Get back on track the following day.

An everyday prayer practice is a great method to begin the new year with a new belief in the purpose of your life and a feeling of connection to the divine. It’s an effective way to start your day, keeping your eyes upon the Lord and making sure that your actions and thoughts are aligned to His plans.

Another way to increase your prayer practice is to make it more engaging. Instead of just reciting phrases, try engaging with God in a deeper way. Use your imagination and try to picture the scenes described by the Bible. Make an effort to experience the emotion of each character and place yourself in their shoes. This can make your time in prayer more personal and meaningful.

Try incorporating different forms prayers into your day-to-day routine. For example, try a silent prayer, contemplative prayer or even writing down your prayers. This will prevent your prayer routine from becoming boring and will add variety to your spiritual routine.

One of the most effective methods to keep yourself motivated and on track with your daily prayer routine is sharing your practice with others. Find an accountability partner either a close friend or family member who will be checking in with you and encourage you to adhere to your routine. They can even join you in prayers and share their own experiences.

Rememberthat the purpose of daily prayer is to increase your connection with God and make sure that your thoughts and actions are aligned in accordance with His plans. It’s not about perfectionism or following an unwritten set of rules, it’s about being consistent and deliberate in your daily spiritual practice. Therefore, make the effort to discover a prayer practice that you enjoy and set it as a priority in your daily life.
