The most challenging aspect of praying is to make it a regular part of our lives. However, with a time and planning, you can create your own prayer routine that is suitable for you and your schedule. And the greatest part is that you are able to modify it to match your own personality and your spiritual beliefs.

Let’s be real, life can be hectic and it’s easy to let prayer get lost on the list of priorities. But just like anything else that’s worth being a part of, it requires commitment and discipline. This is where the creation of the habit of praying comes into. It helps us establish a an order and accountability to ensure we’re in contact with God on a regularly.

How do you start? The first step is to decide which time of the day is the most suitable time to pray. Some prefer to begin their day by praying, and others prefer to pray at night before going to bed. Experiment and see what works best for you.

Once you’ve determined the best time for prayer You can begin building your daily routine. Here’s an illustration of a typical daily routine for morning prayer:

Begin by approaching God to ask for his blessing as you read and meditate.

Go through a section of the Bible and then meditate on it for a while. This can be accomplished by reading it three to four times or by listing everything it reveals about yourself, or examples to follow, commands to obey , or promises to make.

Make your prayer a ritual by praying for adoration, confession prayer, thanksgiving, and petition. Prayerfully address your needs and pressing concerns as well as taking time to sit in the presence of God.

The best thing about praying is that it is customizable to fit your needs. Some people may only have some minutes and others could have an hours or longer. The trick is making it a consistent element of your day-to-day routine. And if you miss one or two days Don’t be concerned! Just get back on track for the next day.

An everyday prayer practice is a great opportunity to begin the new year with a renewed feeling of purpose and connection with the divine. It’s a powerful method to start your day, placing your attention on the Lord and making sure that your actions and thoughts are aligned in accordance with His plan.

Another way to increase your prayer routine is to make it more engaging. Instead of just reciting words, try to engage with God in a deeper way. Make use of your imagination and try to picture the scenes described in the Bible. You can try to imagine the feelings of these characters and put yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This can make your time in prayer more meaningful and personal.

You can also try incorporating different types of prayer into your routine. For instance, you can try silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even writing down your prayers. This can keep your prayer routine from becoming boring and will add the variety you need to your spiritual practice.

One of the most effective methods to keep yourself focused and in line with your daily prayers is sharing the practice with other people. Find a accountability partner, a friend or family member who will check in with you and encourage you to stick to your daily routine. They could even be a part of your prayers and share their own experiences.

Remember, the goal of daily prayer is to increase your connection with God and make sure that your thoughts and actions are aligned with His will. It’s not about achieving perfection or adhering to an unwritten set of guidelines, but rather being consistent and deliberate in your spiritual life. So, take the time to find a prayer routine that is a good fit for you and set it as a priority in your day-to-day life. You’ll be amazed at the difference it can make in your spiritual growth and overall health.
