Let’s be real, life can be busy and it’s easy to let prayers slip down on the priority list. However, just like everything else that’s worth having, it requires dedication and discipline. This is where establishing the habit of praying comes into. It provides structure and accountability to ensure that we’re in contact with God on a a regular basis.

So, how do you get started? The first step is to figure out what time of day works best for you to pray. Some prefer to begin their day with prayer while others find it easier to pray at night before going to bed. Try it out and discover what works for you.

Once you’ve identified the ideal time to pray, you can start building your daily routine. Here’s an illustration of a typical daily routine for morning prayers:

Begin by addressing God to ask for his presence as you read and meditate.

Read a passage from the Bible and reflect on the passage. It can be done by reading the passage three to four times, or listing everything it reveals about yourself, guidelines to obey or promises to claim.

Make your prayer a ritual by offering adoration, confession, petition, and thanksgiving. Pray for your urgent needs and concerns as well as taking time to be in God’s presence.

The beauty of the prayer time routine is that it’s customizable to fit your needs. Some people may only have some minutes and others could have an time or even more. It’s important making it a constant part of your daily routine. If you fall off the occasional day or two, don’t sweat it! Get back on track for the next day.

An everyday prayer practice is a wonderful opportunity to begin this new year feeling a renewed belief in the purpose of your life and a spiritual connection with God. It’s an effective way to begin your day by keeping your eyes upon the Lord and making sure that your actions and thoughts are aligned to His plans.

Another way to enhance your prayer time is to create a more interactive. Instead of simply reciting words, try to engage with God on a deeper level. Make use of your imagination and try to picture the scenes described by the Bible. You can try to imagine the feelings of these characters and place yourself in their shoes. This will make your prayer time more personal and meaningful.

It is also possible to incorporate various forms prayers into your routine. For instance, you can try silent prayer, contemplative prayer or even journaling your prayers. This can keep your prayer routine from becoming boring and will add the variety you need to your spiritual practice.

One of the best methods to keep yourself motivated and on track with your prayer practice is by sharing your practice with others. Find a accountability partner either a close friend or family member who can check in with you and help you to keep to your daily routine. They can even join you in prayers and share their own experiences.

The goal of a regular prayer routine is to strengthen your relationship with God and make sure that your thoughts and actions are aligned with His will. It’s not about achieving perfection or adhering to a strict set of guidelines, but rather being intentional and consistent in your daily spiritual practice. Therefore, make the effort to create a routine of prayer that works for you and make it a priority within your everyday life. You’ll be amazed at the impact it has on your spiritual growth and overall well-being.
