The most challenging part of prayer is making it a constant element of our daily lives. With a time and planning it is possible to create your own prayer routine that is suitable for you and your schedule. And the most appealing part is that you are able to modify it to fit your personality and your spiritual beliefs.

Let’s be real, life can be hectic and it’s easy to let prayer slip down on the priority list. Like everything else that’s worth having, it takes dedication and discipline. That’s where developing the habit of praying comes into. It gives structure and accountability to make sure we are in contact with God on a a regular basis.

How do you start? The first step is to decide which time of the day is the most suitable time to pray. Some people prefer to start their day with prayer, while others find it easier to pray in the evening before going to bed. Experiment and see what works for you.

After you’ve decided on the most appropriate time to pray, you can start building your daily routine. Here’s an example of a pattern that you can follow daily for morning prayer:

Begin by addressing God to ask for his help as you read and pray.

Take a chapter from the Bible and meditate on it. It can be done by reading it three to four times, or listing the things it says about yourself or the examples you can follow, instructions to follow or promises to keep.

Your prayer should be structured by praying for adoration, confession as well as petition and thanksgiving. Prayerfully address your needs and pressing concerns as well as taking time to sit in the presence of God.

The great thing about a prayer routine is that it’s customizable to suit your needs. Some people may only have just a few minutes, while others may have an hours or longer. It’s important to make it a constant part of your routine. And if you miss the occasional day or two do not fret! Get back on track the following day.

An everyday prayer practice is an excellent method to begin the new year with a new sense of purpose and feeling of connection to the divine. It’s a powerful way to start your day, placing your attention upon the Lord and making sure that your actions and thoughts are aligned in accordance with His plan.

Another method to improve your prayer time is to create a more interactive. Instead of reciting the words, try to engage with God at a deeper level. Try using your imagination to picture the scenes described by the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters, and put yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This makes your time of prayer more personal and meaningful.

It is also possible to incorporate different forms in your prayer daily routine. For example, try a silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even writing down your prayers. This will prevent your prayer routine from becoming monotonous and add the variety you need to your spiritual practice.

One of the most effective ways to stay engaged and focused on your daily prayer routine is sharing the practice with other people. Find an accountability partner, a family member or friend member who will check in with you and encourage you to stick to your schedule. They could even be a part of your prayers and share their own experiences.

Rememberthat the purpose of a regular prayer routine is to deepen your relationship with God and ensure that your actions and thoughts are in line to His plan. It’s not about perfection or following the strict rules, it’s about being intentional and consistent in your daily spiritual practice. Take the time to discover a prayer practice that works for you and incorporate it within your everyday life. You’ll be amazed at the difference it can make on your spiritual growth and overall well-being.
