Read a passage from the Bible and meditate on the passage. This can be accomplished by reading it three or four times, or listing everything it reveals about yourself, or guidelines to obey or promises to make.

Make your prayer a ritual by praying for adoration, confession, petition, and thanksgiving. Make a prayer for your needs and pressing concerns, and take time to be in God’s presence.

This will make your prayer time more personal and meaningful.
