Begin by addressing God to ask for his blessing while you read and pray.
Go through a section of the Bible and then meditate on the passage. This can be accomplished by reading it three or four times, or listing the things it says about yourself, guidelines to obey , or promises to make.
Your prayer should be structured by making confession, adoration prayer, thanksgiving, and petition. Make a prayer for your urgent needs and concerns as well as taking time to be in God’s presence.
The best thing about praying is that it can be adapted to fit your needs. For some, you may have only a few minutes to spare and others could have an hours or longer. Try using your imagination to picture the scenes described within the Bible. You can try to imagine the feelings of these characters, and put yourself in their position. This will make your prayer time more meaningful and personal.
It is also possible to incorporate various forms prayers into your daily routine. For example, try a silent prayers, contemplative prayers, or even journaling your prayers. This will keep your prayer practice from becoming repetitive and provide some variety to your daily spiritual routine.
