It’s true that life can be busy and it’s easy for prayer to slip down on the priority list. Like everything other thing worth having, it requires dedication and discipline. That’s where developing the habit of praying comes into. It provides an order and accountability to ensure we’re in contact with God on a an ongoing basis.

So, how do you start? The first step is to figure out which time of the day is the most suitable time to pray. Some prefer to begin their day by praying, and others prefer to pray before going to going to bed. Test and see which method works best for you.

Once you’ve determined the best time for prayer then you can begin building your daily routine. Here’s an illustration of a typical daily routine for prayer in the morning:

Begin by approaching God to ask for his presence while you read and pray.

Read a passage from the Bible and then meditate on it for a while. This can be done by reading the passage three to four times, or writing down anything it tells you about yourself, examples to follow, commands to follow or promises to keep.

Structure your prayer by making confession, adoration, petition, and thanksgiving. Make a prayer for your immediate needs and worries, and take time to be in God’s presence.

The best thing about praying is that it is customizable to suit your needs. Some people may only have a few minutes to spare, while others may have an hour or more. It’s important to make it a regular element of your day-to-day routine. If you fall off one or two days Don’t be concerned! Just get back on track for the next day.

The practice of daily prayer is a great method to begin this new year feeling a fresh feeling of purpose and connection with the divine. It’s a powerful method to start your day, placing your attention upon the Lord and making sure that your actions and thoughts are aligned with His will.

Another method to improve your prayer routine is to create a more engaging. Instead of reciting the phrases, try engaging with God at a deeper level. Use your imagination and try to visualize the scenes within the Bible. Make an effort to experience the emotion of each character and place yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This can make your time in prayer more meaningful and personal.

It is also possible to incorporate different forms of prayer into your daily routine. For example, try silent prayers, contemplative prayers, or even writing your prayers. This will keep your prayer practice from becoming repetitive and provide variety to your spiritual routine.

One of the most effective methods to keep yourself focused and in line with your prayer practice is by sharing your practice with other people. Find a accountability partner, a family member or friend member who will be checking in with you and encourage you to stick to your schedule. They can even be a part of your prayer and share their personal experiences.

Remember, the goal of a regular prayer routine is to strengthen your relationship with God and align your thoughts and actions with His will. It’s not about perfection or adhering to an unwritten set of rules, it’s about being intentional and consistent in your spiritual life. So, take the time to find a prayer routine that works for you and set it as a priority in your daily life. You’ll be amazed at the impact it has for your spiritual development as well as overall wellbeing.
