Begin by addressing God, ask for his help while you read and pray.
Take a chapter from the Bible and meditate on the passage. It can be done by reading it three to four times, or writing down anything it tells you about yourself or guidelines to follow or promises to keep.
Make your prayer a ritual by praying for adoration, confession, petition, and thanksgiving. Prayerfully address your immediate needs and worries as well as taking time to sit in the presence of God.

Make use of your imagination and try to picture the scenes described in the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters, and put yourself in their position. This can make your time in prayer more personal and meaningful.
Try incorporating different forms in your prayer day-to-day routine. For example, try a silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even writing your prayers. This will prevent your prayer practice from becoming repetitive and provide some variety to your daily spiritual routine.
