Once you’ve determined the best time for prayer then you can begin to build your routine. Here’s an example of a daily pattern for morning prayer:

Begin by talking to God, ask for his presence as you read and meditate.

Take a chapter from the Bible and meditate on the passage. This can be accomplished by reading it three to four times, or listing the things it says about yourself, or guidelines to obey or promises to keep.

Make your prayer a ritual by praying for adoration, confession as well as petition and thanksgiving. Pray for your needs and pressing concerns, and take time to enjoy God’s presence.

The great thing about a prayer routine is that it is customizable to fit your needs. For some, you may have only some minutes and others could have a half an hour or more. The key is that you make this a consistent element of your day-to-day routine. And if you miss the occasional day or two Don’t be concerned! You can get back on track the following day.

The practice of daily prayer is an excellent way to start this new year feeling a renewed belief in the purpose of your life and a connection with the divine. It’s a powerful method to begin your day by placing your attention to the Lord and aligning your thoughts and actions with His will.

Another way to enhance your prayer practice is to create a more engaging. Instead of reciting the phrases, try engaging with God in a deeper way. Make use of your imagination and try to imagine the scenes that are described by the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters and place yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This will make your prayer time more meaningful and personal.

You can also try incorporating various forms prayers into your day-to-day routine. For instance, you can try silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even journaling your prayers. This will keep your prayer practice from becoming repetitive and provide variety to your spiritual routine.

Find an accountability partner either a close friend or family member who can check on you regularly and help you to adhere to your schedule. They could even join you in prayers and share their own experiences.
