Begin by approaching God, ask for his presence as you read and meditate.

Go through a section of the Bible and reflect on it. It can be done by reading the passage three to four times, or writing down everything it reveals about yourself, or the examples you can follow, instructions to obey or promises to claim.

Make your prayer a ritual by making confession, adoration, petition, and thanksgiving. Make a prayer for your urgent needs and concerns as well as taking time to enjoy God’s presence.

The best thing about the prayer time routine is that it can be adapted to fit your needs. For some, you may have only just a few minutes and others could be able to devote a whole hour or more. The trick is that you make this a consistent element of your day-to-day routine. If you fall off one or two days Don’t be concerned! Just get back on track the following day.

Try using your imagination to picture the scenes described within the Bible. Make an effort to experience the emotion of each character, and put yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This will make your prayer time more personal and meaningful.

You can also try incorporating various forms prayers into your routine. For example, try silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even journaling your prayers. This will prevent your prayer practice from becoming monotonous and add variety to your spiritual routine.
