Consider it your spiritual workout. Just as you go to the gym to keep in shape. an everyday prayer routine can keep your soul strong and connected to the Divine.

The most challenging aspect of prayer is to make it a regular part of our life. However, with a bit of planning and effort, you can create your own prayer routine that is suitable for you and your time. And the most appealing part is that you can customize it to fit your personality and spiritual tradition.

Let’s be real, life can be hectic and it’s easy to let prayer slip down on the priority list. However, just like everything else worth having, it takes commitment and discipline. This is where establishing a prayer routine comes in. It provides an order and accountability to ensure that we’re in contact with God on a regularly.

So, how do you start? The first step is to determine which time of the day is the most suitable time to pray. Some people prefer to start their day by praying, while others prefer to pray at night before getting to bed. Try it out and discover what works best for you.

Once you’ve determined the best time to pray, you can start to build your routine. Here’s an example of a daily pattern for morning prayer:

Begin by approaching God, ask for his help as you read and meditate.

Take a chapter from the Bible and then meditate on the passage. It can be done by reading it three to four times, or listing everything it reveals about yourself or guidelines to follow or promises to claim.

Make your prayer a ritual by praying for adoration, confession prayer, thanksgiving, and petition. Make a prayer for your immediate needs and worries and then take time to enjoy God’s presence.

The great thing about the prayer time routine is that it can be adapted to suit your needs. Some people may only have some minutes, while others may have a half an hour or more. It’s important that you make this a consistent element of your day-to-day routine. If you fall off the occasional day or two Don’t be concerned! You can get back on track the next day.

The practice of daily prayer is a great opportunity to begin the new year with a new feeling of purpose and connection with the divine. It’s a powerful method to start your day, putting your focus on the Lord and making sure that your actions and thoughts are aligned in accordance with His plan.

Another way to increase your prayer routine is to create a more engaging. Instead of simply reciting words, you should try to connect with God in a deeper way. Make use of your imagination and try to imagine the scenes that are described in the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters and place yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This makes your time of prayer more personal and meaningful.

It is also possible to incorporate different types of prayer into your routine. For example, try silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even journaling your prayers. This will keep your prayer practice from becoming boring and will add some variety to your daily spiritual routine.

One of the most effective methods to keep yourself motivated and on track with your daily prayers is sharing your practice with other people. Find a partner in accountability either a close friend or family member who can check in with you and encourage you to keep to your daily routine. They may even join you in prayer and share their personal experiences.

The goal of daily prayer is to strengthen your relationship with God and make sure that your thoughts and actions are aligned to His plan. It’s not about perfectionism or following the strict rules, it’s about being consistent and deliberate in your spiritual life. Take the time to find a prayer routine that is a good fit for you and set it as a priority in your daily life. You’ll be amazed at the impact it has on your spiritual growth as well as overall wellbeing.
