This is where the creation of the habit of praying comes into. It helps us establish a the structure and accountability needed to ensure that we’re connected to God on a a regular basis.

How do you begin? It’s the first thing to do is determine the time of day that is the most suitable time to pray. Some people prefer to start their day with prayer while others prefer to pray in the evening before going to getting to bed. Try it out and discover what works best for you.

After you’ve decided on the most appropriate time for prayer, you can start to establish a routine. Here’s an illustration of a typical daily routine for prayer in the morning:

Begin by talking to God to ask for his presence as you read and meditate.

Read a passage from the Bible and then meditate on it. This can be done by reading the passage three to four times or by listing anything it tells you about yourself, examples to follow, commands to obey or promises to make.

Your prayer should be structured by offering adoration, confession, petition, and thanksgiving. Pray for your immediate needs and worries and then take time to be in God’s presence.

The great thing about praying is that it’s customizable to suit your needs. Many people might only have some minutes, while others may have an time or even more. It’s important to make it a constant element of your day-to-day routine. And if you miss the occasional day or two, don’t sweat it! Get back on track the next day.

A daily prayer practice is a great method to begin your new year off with a fresh sense of purpose and spiritual connection with God. It’s a powerful method to start your day, keeping your eyes on the Lord and making sure that your actions and thoughts are aligned with His will.

Another way to increase your prayer routine is to make it more engaging. Instead of reciting the words, try to engage with God at a deeper level. Make use of your imagination and try to picture the scenes described by the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters and put yourself in their shoes. This can make your time in prayer more personal and meaningful.

You can also try incorporating different forms of prayer into your day-to-day routine. For instance, you can try silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even journaling your prayers. This will prevent your prayer routine from becoming monotonous and add some variety to your daily spiritual routine.

One of the best ways to remain focused and in line with your prayer practice is by sharing the practice with others. Find a accountability partner, a family member or friend member who will check in with you and encourage you to keep to your daily routine. They can even be a part of your prayers and share their own experiences.

The goal of a regular prayer routine is to strengthen your relationship with God and ensure that your actions and thoughts are in line in accordance with His plans. It’s not about perfection or adhering to the strict rules, it’s about being consistent and deliberate in your life of faith. So, take the time to discover a prayer practice that you enjoy and set it as a priority within your everyday life. You’ll be amazed at how much difference it makes in your spiritual growth and overall well-being.
