But with a little amount of planning and effort, you can create your own prayer routine that is suitable with your lifestyle and schedule. And the greatest part is that you are able to modify it to fit your personality and spiritual tradition.

It’s true that life can be hectic and it’s easy for prayer to slip down on the priority list. However, just like everything else that’s worth having, it requires commitment and discipline. This is where the creation of the habit of praying comes into. It provides the structure and accountability needed to ensure that we’re in contact with God on a an ongoing basis.

So, how do you get started? First, you must figure out what time of day is most conducive to you to pray. Some people prefer to start their day by praying, and others prefer to pray in the evening before going to getting to bed. Test and see which method works best for you.

Once you’ve identified the ideal time to pray, you can start building your daily routine. Here’s an example of a pattern that you can follow daily for prayer in the morning:

Begin by approaching God to ask for his presence as you read and pray.

Read a passage from the Bible and then meditate on it. It can be done by reading it three or four times or by listing everything it reveals about yourself, the examples you can follow, instructions to obey or promises to keep.

Structure your prayer by making confession, adoration as well as petition and thanksgiving. Prayerfully address your immediate needs and worries, and take time to enjoy God’s presence.

The best thing about praying is that it’s customizable to meet your requirements. For some, you may have only just a few minutes, while others may have a half an hour or more. The key is to make it a regular element of your day-to-day routine. And if you miss one or two days do not fret! Just get back on track for the next day.

An everyday prayer practice is a great opportunity to begin the new year with a renewed belief in the purpose of your life and a spiritual connection with God. It’s a powerful way to start your day, placing your attention to the Lord and aligning your thoughts and actions in accordance with His plan.

Another method to improve your prayer time is to make it more interactive. Instead of simply reciting phrases, try engaging with God on a deeper level. Use your imagination and try to visualize the scenes by the Bible. You can try to imagine the feelings of these characters and put yourself in their position. This can make your time in prayer more meaningful and personal.

It is also possible to incorporate various forms prayers into your day-to-day routine. For instance, you can try silent prayer, contemplative prayer or even writing down your prayers. This can keep your prayer routine from becoming repetitive and provide the variety you need to your spiritual practice.

One of the best ways to stay engaged and focused on your daily prayer routine is sharing your practice with others. Find a accountability partner, a friend or family member who can check on you regularly and help you to stick to your routine. They can even join you in prayers and share their own experiences.

Remember, the goal of a daily prayer practice is to strengthen your relationship with God and make sure that your thoughts and actions are aligned to His plan. It’s not about perfectionism or adhering to a strict set of guidelines, but rather being consistent and deliberate in your spiritual life. Therefore, make the effort to find a prayer routine that is a good fit for you and make it a priority within your everyday life.
