The most challenging aspect of praying is making it a constant part of our daily life. With a time and planning it is possible to create an effective prayer schedule that works for you and your schedule. The most appealing part is that you can customize it to fit your personality and religious tradition.

Let’s be real, life is hectic and it’s easy to let prayer slip down on the list of priorities. But just like anything else that’s worth being a part of, it requires commitment and discipline. That’s where developing the habit of praying comes into. It helps us establish a structure and accountability to ensure that we’re connecting with the divine on regularly.

How do you start? The first step is to determine the time of day that is most conducive to you to pray. Some people prefer to start their day with prayer, while others find it easier to pray before going to getting to bed. Try it out and discover which method works best for you.

Once you’ve identified the ideal time to pray, you can start to build your routine. Here’s an example of a daily pattern for prayer in the morning:

Begin by approaching God and asking for his help while you read and pray.

Go through a section of the Bible and meditate on it. It can be done by reading the passage three to four times, or writing down the things it says about yourself, or the examples you can follow, instructions to follow or promises to keep.

Structure your prayer by making confession, adoration, petition, and thanksgiving. Make a prayer for your urgent needs and concerns, and take time to be in God’s presence.

The beauty of the prayer time routine is that it is customizable to meet your requirements. Many people might only have some minutes and others could have an hours or longer. It’s important making it a regular part of your daily routine. If you don’t make it through a day or two do not fret! Just get back on track the next day.

An everyday prayer practice is a great opportunity to begin this new year feeling a new sense of purpose and feeling of connection to the divine. It’s an effective way to start your day, putting your focus to the Lord and making sure that your actions and thoughts are aligned in accordance with His plan.

Another way to increase your prayer time is to enhance it by making it more interactive. Instead of simply reciting words, you should try to connect with God at a deeper level. Use your imagination and try to imagine the scenes that are described in the Bible. Make an effort to experience the emotion of each character and put yourself in their shoes. This makes your time of prayer more personal and meaningful.

It is also possible to incorporate various forms of prayer into your day-to-day routine. For example, try a silent prayers, contemplative prayers, or even writing down your prayers. This can keep your prayer practice from becoming repetitive and provide variety to your spiritual routine.

One of the best methods to keep yourself engaged and focused on your daily prayer routine is sharing the practice with other people. Find an accountability partner, a family member or friend member who will be checking on you regularly and help you to keep to your routine. They may even be a part of your prayer and share their own experiences.

Rememberthat the purpose of a daily prayer practice is to deepen your relationship with God and ensure that your actions and thoughts are in line with His will. It’s not about perfection or adhering to the strict rules, it’s about being deliberate and consistent in your spiritual life. Therefore, make the effort to discover a prayer practice that you enjoy and incorporate it in your daily life.
