Begin by talking to God to ask for his blessing as you read and pray.

Take a chapter from the Bible and meditate on the passage. It can be done by reading it three to four times, or listing anything it tells you about yourself, or examples to follow, commands to obey or promises to make.

Structure your prayer by making confession, adoration as well as petition and thanksgiving. Make a prayer for your immediate needs and worries, and take time to be in God’s presence.

The great thing about praying is that it’s customizable to meet your requirements. For some, you may have only a few minutes to spare, while others may have a half an hours or longer. Another way to increase your prayer practice is to enhance it by making it more interactive. Instead of just reciting words, you should try to connect with God on a deeper level. Try using your imagination to imagine the scenes that are described within the Bible. Try to feel the emotions of the characters and put yourself in their the shoes of their characters. This makes your time of prayer more meaningful and personal.

It is also possible to incorporate various forms prayers into your day-to-day routine. For example, try silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even writing your prayers. This will prevent your prayer practice from becoming repetitive and provide the variety you need to your spiritual practice.

Find an accountability partner either a close friend or family member who will check in with you and encourage you to adhere to your schedule. They may even join you in prayer and share their personal experiences.
