After you’ve decided on the most appropriate time to pray, you can start building your daily routine. Here’s an illustration of a typical daily routine for morning prayer:
Begin by approaching God and asking for his presence as you read and pray.
Read a passage from the Bible and reflect on the passage. This can be done by reading the passage three to four times, or writing down everything it reveals about yourself, or the examples you can follow, instructions to obey , or promises to claim.
Structure your prayer by praying for adoration, confession prayer, thanksgiving, and petition. Prayerfully address your urgent needs and concerns and then take time to be in God’s presence.
The beauty of a prayer routine is that it can be adapted to suit your needs. For some, you may have only just a few minutes while others might have a half an hour or more. It’s important making it a consistent element of your day-to-day routine. If you fall off the occasional day or two, don’t sweat it! You can get back on track the next day.

It’s a powerful method to start your day, keeping your eyes on the Lord and making sure that your actions and thoughts are aligned in accordance with His plan.
Another way to enhance your prayer practice is to enhance it by making it more engaging. Instead of reciting the phrases, try engaging with God on a deeper level. Make use of your imagination and try to imagine the scenes that are described by the Bible. You can try to imagine the feelings of these characters, and put yourself in their shoes. This makes your time of prayer more personal and meaningful.
You can also try incorporating different forms prayers into your routine. For example, try silent prayer, contemplative prayer, or even journaling your prayers. This will prevent your prayer practice from becoming monotonous and add the variety you need to your spiritual practice.
One of the best ways to stay motivated and on track with your daily prayer routine is sharing it with others. Find an accountability partner, a friend or family member who will check on you regularly and help you to stick to your schedule. They could even be a part of your prayer and share their personal experiences.
Remember, the goal of daily prayer is to increase your connection with God and align your thoughts and actions to His plan. It’s not about perfectionism or adhering to an unwritten set of rules, it’s about being deliberate and consistent in your spiritual life. Take the time to discover a prayer practice that works for you and incorporate it in your daily life.
